Fortress Consulting’s customized training program prepares your staff to be ready for the unexpected with a sense of confidence, authority and clarity.

here's why

  • Assessment to identify key systems and manpower for site specific response plan.

  • Active Shooter Response Foundation Class: Training for all facility staff (property management, engineering and security). Class explains the three main goals of any active shooter situation. Discussion of how staff and facility systems will be utilized to rapidly achieve those goals.

  • Incident Management System Class: Effective communication is essential for an effective response. This class will teach a key facility managers (property managers, chief engineer, security director) the system to delegate and keep account of all key tasks.

  • Workplace Violence/Active Shooter Response Training Exercise: We learn by doing. To ensure a rapid response, you must practice your response plan. While the building is quiet, Fortress Consulting conducts reality based training scenarios that are specific to your facility.   The realistic scenarios will identify any short comings with the initial response plan and give your team members the confidence needed to respond. Multiple safety protocols are in place to make sure that there is a sterile safe training environment for participants. No weapons are utilized during the training exercise.

  • All trainers are senior level subject matter experts with critical experience in public safety, law enforcement and workplace violence incidents. Fortress instructors have safely managed hundreds of large scale reality based training exercises for both the public and private sector.

  • Ongoing partnership to keep you up-to-date and prepared.

Do you have an active shooter response plan in place for your facility?

  • A plan to rapidly and effectively communicate accurate information to your tenant

  • A plan to limit the suspect’s free movement throughout your facility

  • A plan to give responding law enforcement officers what they need to locate the suspect

Is your team prepared to enact your plan?

  • Have you practiced your plan? Talking about your plan at a tabletop exercise is not enough!

  • Does everyone on your team know their duties and responsibilities?

  • Do you have a system to manage the key tasks of your response plan. If not, important actions will be missed.

Facilities can no longer justify inaction by saying that an active shooter has never happened here.
